Checkered Flag - Atari Jaguar - All Courses

In this playthrough I started by doing a tournament of the first course and quickly realize that's way too many laps per course for very little benefit. On the second course I activate the cheat code for night mode in the weather settings. For the rest of the courses I play 5 laps through them on sunny weather so you can get a good idea of what the environment looks like.

I'm not the best player at this game as you can see. The game was actually pretty fun once I got used to the float inherent in all of these style racing games.

One thing I don't get. The story set up is that Pluto was kidnapped and so Mickey and the gang hop in their vehicles and ride as fast as they can to save him. But then they just race on closed courses... that get them closer to Pluto and the bad guys? Hmmm.

This is just a bit of fun. Videos from this channel are always being ripped from YouTube and uploaded to other channels. At least @cynarmyryaidzero went a bit extra and added their own intro and removed the borders on my video, that's more than may do!

Anyway, normally I don't do anything or I make a comment on their videos just to have a bit of fun with it. However, I think Army of Zero was the first channel to respond to one of my comments and deny they took the video.

What on earth!? Lol. Like, it's REALLY easy to compare the two videos. Why on earth double down? Anyway. It compelled me to make this video. I promise I'm not turning into a drama channel. It's more funny than anything.

Like, why take that video from 9 years ago when I have a MUCH higher quality version elsewhere on the channel that wouldn't have made them have to crop or edit anything. Very funny.

Right in time for Spook Season I play this masterpiece Sonic hack. I believe it's based off Sonic 3 & Knuckles but I'm sure. It's a brand new, full-length adventure that finds Sonic transported to Hell where he fights a huge number of monsters and bosses that are featured in other games.

This hack is so well done. It was five years in the making and the final version just released this year. I really recommend you play it by any means necessary!

Ghostbusters - NES - Full No Commentary Playthrough

The infamous Ghostbusters NES game. There are a few versions of this game that came out for old consoles, but I think NES one was maybe the hardest.

I tried to record this video a few times, each time getting a game over one way or another. The main cheat I do here to complete the game is getting out the auto-fire for the stairway to Zuul. This is the single best way to gain the system. Otherwise I would grind items too long to make the stairway scene easier, get hit by the ghosts too much, or run out of gas during the grind-fest.

So I hope you can excuse that cheat I did, I can't imagine how any kid beat this back in the day without a controller with rapid fire.

Megaman 1 - The New Lands Remastered (Mega Man 1 Rom Hack) Full Playthrough

This Mega Man 1 rom hack is a remaster of the original New Lands rom hack and has all new levels, new music, and graphical changes from the original Mega Man game. Overall it's more difficult than the original game. I found this one pretty enjoyable. Some of the placement of enemies were a bit frustrating, but there are enough interesting things going on in this that I would definitely recommend you checking it out. This is a full Mario Grand Prix of all the courses in the game at 100cc. I use one new character for each Grand Prix.

Super Mario Kart Ft. Retro HD and Friends is a recently updated Super Mario Kart featuring a lot of brand new tracks, all in the style of the Mario Circuit stages, and four new raceable character.

There are a lot of very interesting ideas in this hack and I found it very enjoyable. I did find some of the new tracks almost impossible to play with heavy characters, and sometimes I found it hard to see where I was supposed to go with the new color scheme and track designs. That being said, there is a lot to enjoy in this hack and I would highly recommend you giving it a spin.

The battle courses appear to be the same but with the new color palette, so I didn't include them here.

Sonic The Hedgehog 2 - Full Sega Genesis Playthrough - Improved Version

It was only 8 years ago I uploaded the first Sonic 2 Playthrough video to my channel. At the time I was experimenting with some things I don't like now and the original video got a hefty amount of criticism, much of it warranted.

So I now present this improved playthrough of Sonic the Hedgehog 2. Changes include higher resolution (1080p), YouTube does 60fps now, and no border or filters. In addition to these quality changes, I also changed how I play through the game. I no longer spam Super Sonic, I get the last emerald much later in the game and only showcase Super Sonic for a small section of the game. I explore and take my time time through the levels a bit more. Now people can enjoy the great music present in Sonic 2 and spend a little bit more time with this beloved game.

I hope this goes a long way to addressing the original video's flaws. Thanks!

Smb3 Hackathon 2022 - Super Mario Bros. 3 Rom Hack

Smb3 Hackathon 2022 is a collaborative hack between several different people that was all done in a single day. That might give off that it's not "professional" per-se, and to be sure it's rough around the edges in places. That being said, there is a lot of fun to be had here. For as little time as they spent on it there is a good variety from familiar stages with a twist to fully new levels. The difficulty ramp is pretty good, but uneven at times. It's a good size as well, a few worlds, some shorter than others.

Overall I think it could use some polish here and there but it's a very good effort for a few people doing the whole thing in a day. Before you watch the whole video, check it out.

As Lucia's condition worsens, we make our way to Dalton to seek out Ronfar, a priest who can hopefully break Lucia's spell. We find Ronfar is actually a gambling, cheating, has-been. But when Ronfar sees Lucia's condition and Hiro's good character, he decides to lie to his old friend, Lord Leo, and help Lucia.

Ronfar is able to break enough of the spell so Lucia can apparently take care of herself and so leaves the party to continue on with her mission. When Ronfar learns where she is going, he decides to follow along with Hiro and Ruby, he knows there is trap set for her there.

Awesome Golf Japanese Course - Atari Lynx

Here is the full 18 hole Japanese golf course from Awesome Golf on the Atari Lynx. This ended up being a fun time. The pointing of each shot is clunky and there seems to be no wind mechanic in the game, but actually shooting a shot is nice compared to other similar golf games from the generation. There was a fair bit of interest for the 2015 vs. 2022 video I made a few days ago and someone in the comments asked if there would be a SNES vs. Remaster video. Well it just made sense to do one so I'm happy to oblige.

It may be worth noting I synced the intros to the music and not the video so switching the audio between the two wouldn't be jarring. I was surprised at how little adjustment either needed to sync up and that the video was still generally in line with each other. Seems Square Enix paid pretty close attention to the original when planning and arranging the Pixel Remaster.

Final Fantasy I Pixel Remaster 018 - Airship and Class Change

In this episode we use our floater to summon an airship out of the desert. Then we wander around the map for a while until I finally find our next destination, Gaia. After some shopping we go to complete a trail in a teleport laden castle where we get a rat tail. Then we make it to the dragon caves where Bahamut grants us a class upgrade.

Final Fantasy I Pixel Remaster 017 - Cavern of Ice

In this episode I make my way to and through the Cavern of Ice and do it twice pretty much. I just had to get that last chest. Now that I have the levistone the game will open up quite a bit I think.

Note for continuity: I recorded a grind episode after the Fire Cave but the video file came out corrupted. I started and stopped at the same place and didn't do anything story wise, so you aren't missing anything really, but the stats of my characters aren't what they were at the end of the last video.

In this episode we use our newly acquired canoe to go to the Fire Cave, a deep, lava filled dungeon.

Oh cool, the battle theme got claimed by a latin music publisher, which I'm pretty sure doesn't own the song either. Whatever, they can have the few pennies their ads will generate, I just wish I could have uploaded the video ad-free.
