In this video, I discuss how River makes it possible to earn BTC yield on a US dollar savings account.

This is not a product that lends out your BTC for yield, but rather earns a fiat yield that accrues daily and is used to purchase BTC for your account that is paid monthly.

In this video, I discuss the many differences between XRP and Bitcoin.

XRP is the complete antithesis of Bitcoin. XRP is highly centralized, had a 100% premine, and the parent company Ripple is actively collaborating with governments to build CBDCs (central bank digital currencies) that can be used to enslave and control a population. XRP is anti-freedom money.

By contrast, Bitcoin is freedom money.

Trading or hodling any other crypto will not get you ahead in BTC terms over the long term. That's why I just hodl Bitcoin.

Bitcoin: Scarce, Useful, Valuable

In this video, I discuss the interplay between Bitcoin's scarcity, its utility, and its valuation.

Scarce things are not necessarily valuable, unless they are also useful. Bitcoin is an extremely useful monetary technology that allows anyone to exchange economic value with anyone else in the world, without needing to ask permission or involve a third party.

Bitcoin is also useful, in that it doesn't require a bank account or brokerage account to hold, unlike stocks, bonds, and other financial assets. If you hold your own keys, Bitcoin is a bearer asset with zero counter-party risk.

Bitcoin's scarcity relative to fiat ensures that it will pump forever, which makes it more valuable today, as more and more people wake up to this fact.

I also discuss the concept of "intrinsic value," which doesn't exist for Bitcoin or any other asset. The value of things is not inscribed deep inside of them, nor set by the amount of labor input (pace Marx), but rather by the free market.

I also discuss the idea of a "monetary premium," and how this can help us to understand why Bitcoin is a much better form of money than copper, silver, or gold.

The Insane Bitcoin MSTR QQQ Feedback Loop

In this video, I discuss the feedback loop, where companies like MicroStrategy get added to stock market indices, which enables passive stock index flows to flow into BTC itself. As more companies add BTC to their balance sheets, it pumps BTC, which pumps the stocks of these companies, increasing their weightings in the indices, and thus leading to even more capital flowing into BTC.

Expect other large publicly traded companies to add BTC to their balance sheets, as the MSTR playbook spreads.

The Quantum Threat To Bitcoin

In this video, I discuss the quantum threat to Bitcoin.

A really powerful quantum computer (which probably doesn't exist yet) could use Shor's algorithm (or other quantum algorithms) to reverse-engineer Bitcoin private keys from Bitcoin public keys, thus making it possible to steal someone'e Bitcoin.

The solution is the creation of quantum-resistant Bitcoin addresses and then everyone moving their BTC from legacy addresses to these new addresses.

Building consensus for a change like this will take time, so it's a good thing that people are already proposing quantum address BIPs (Bitcoin improvement proposals).

The only things more vulnerable to a quantum computing attack than Bitcoin are the traditional financial system, banks, military databases and encrypted communications, and everything else in the world (including the whole internet) that relies on public/private key cryptography.

I also discuss the reasons why it's important never to reuse Bitcoin addresses, due to both security and privacy concerns.

In this video, I discuss the recent Tucker interview with Roger Ver, early Bitcoin adopter and cheerleader for the failed B-Cash fork.

Unfortunately, Tucker's ignorance about Bitcoin and Bitcoin history enables Roger to put forward a history of the blocksize wars that is simply not true. In addition, Roger has a checkered past, reassuring people that their coins were safe on Gox and endorsing scammers like Craig Wright.

Bitcoin was never hijacked. Bitcoin cannot be hijacked, because it is a globally distributed protocol that has no leader or "pilot" who can be hijacked. What in fact happened to Roger is just that he fell out of consensus with the wider community.

I wish Roger the best, and hope that he doesn't have to spend any more time in jail. But I would never trust a single word from his lying mouth.

In this video, I discuss the daily compounding effects that make it risky to hold leveraged ETFs for any longer period of time than intraday trading. There is also the risk that the ETF might not be able to get enough exposure for the next day, if MSTR experiences a volatile market close.

In conclusion, leveraged ETFs are best used solely as intraday trading vehicles. If you hold them overnight or for multiple days or weeks, you will be exposed to volatility drag. MSTR could go to $5,000 over the next 12 months, and you might still get slaughtered holding a levered 2x long MSTR ETF, if MSTR takes a volatile path getting to $5,000.

Convertible bonds are a strange hybrid of stock and bond, and include an embedded call option that allows holders to convert the bond to shares of stock, if the underlying stock is trading above a certain strike price.

MicroStrategy's use of convertible bonds and other financing is one of the most amazing examples of financial engineering that I've ever seen. That being said, I still prefer to hold BTC, since it is a bearer asset.

In this video, I discuss James Baxter-Derrington's article "Whine all you want, Bitcoin is still worthless," as well as James Ball's article "Thanks to Trump, Bitcoin is booming."

Both articles are full of misinformation and outright howlers. While James and James believe that Bitcoin is useless and should be valued at zero, the global free market is valuing Bitcoin at $1.7 trillion. Could it be possible that the market is correct and James squared are wrong?

People find Bitcoin useful because you can store it without needing a bank account or brokerage account, you can send it to anyone in the world anytime without needing anyone's permission, and you can use it to protect your family's finances from the ravages of inflation.

Fortunately, Bitcoin is a voluntary, opt-in system and no one is forcing either James to use Bitcoin, unlike fiat money which is forced upon everyone at the barrel of a gun.

In this video, I discuss the tradeoffs when it comes to the income tax vs. tariffs. While tariffs do interfere with free trade, adding tariffs while eliminating the income tax would incentivize a much smaller federal government-- one which was not so dependent on surveillance and violating the privacy of Americans in order to collect tax revenue.

The US received a double blow in 1913 that it has never recovered from: the imposition of a central bank (Federal Reserve) and the income tax.

It's time to abolish both of them-- and also the Bank Secrecy Act and the so-called Patriot Act. All of these laws and institutions are completely unconstitutional.

In this video, I discuss the trade-offs between owning Bitcoin, a primary residence, and investment properties.

As a digital asset, Bitcoin is a much better store of value than real world assets like real estate that are subject to entropy and require substantial infusions of cash for things like maintenance, insurance, property taxes, security, etc.

Bitcoin is obviously more portable and unconfiscatable as well.

If you're worried about WW3 or civilizational collapse, it might make sense to sacrifice some of your Bitcoin stash to get a foreign passport or residency in a safer location-- or to pick up a remote property where you can be self-sufficient (garden, food, power generation, self-defense).

Every decision involves trade-offs, and there's no "one size fits all solution."

Self-custody teaches people how to be adults when it comes to their money. By contrast, fiat money is all about asking for permission to send a transaction, or help reversing a transaction.

Self-custody leads to more decentralization of Bitcoin holdings, while putting power back into the hands of the people when it comes to protocol changes or forks.

Bitcoin was created to be used as a bearer asset, so users should seek to take full advantage of this. Bitcoin is one of the very few assets in the world that doesn't have counter-party risk, if you hold your own private keys.

In this video, I discuss whether Bitcoin is used mostly by criminals.

I conclude that it is not. The US dollar and big banks remain the best way for large actors to carry out criminal activity, unfortunately.

After running the numbers, I conclude that Elizabeth Warren is much more of a Native American than Bitcoin is a tool used by criminals. Like the US dollar, Warren is also a tool that is used by criminals, because she is a tool.
